Colonial Williamsburg Engagement Session | Richmond, Virginia

Heather & Logan

Heather and Logan decided upon historic Colonial Williamsburg for their engagement session backdrop. Joined by their adorable pup Reid, we explored the town Logan’s family is from.

THE BEAUTIFUL BACKDROP:

Colonial Williamsburg is the largest outdoor educational living museum in the country. Its 301-acre historic area includes several hundred restored or re-created buildings from the 18th century, when the city was the capital of Colonial Virginia. Costumed employees work and dress as people did in the era. We started at the gorgeous Williamsburg Inn which was originally built in 1937. This historic hotel has been visited by many prominent people including President Dwight D. Eisenhower, Winston Churchill, Queen Elizabeth II, and many more. Today, Williamsburg is known internationally as the premier center for the preservation and interpretation of American colonial history: The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation; and as the home of one of the nation’s premier public universities: The College of William & Mary.

HOW THEY MET:

Heather and Logan both attended Radford University and met through a mutual friend. They hung out in the same friend group for months before they decided to go on a date to the VFMA.

THE PROPOSAL:

Logan proposed in January at a winery in Charlottesville, but neither of them can remember the name of the winery. He acted like he wanted to take a photo for Facebook but then proposed in front of his brother and sister in law.

WHAT HEATHER LOVES MOST ABOUT LOGAN:

“He’s patient and fun to be around. Both a partner and a best friend and teaches me to be more responsible and strive professionally and financially.”

WHAT LOGAN LOVES MOST ABOUT HEATHER:

“She is easy to be around. Helps teach me characteristics I may lack, making me more well rounded. We are very similar in our interests/thinking.”
