Hi there! I'm Richmond based wedding and lifestyle photographer Kylie Hinson, and to be completely honest — I can not help but over use exclamation points when writing because when it comes to photography, I just can not contain my excitement!!
I studied photography in college, and ended up walking away from the camera for a few years. After a brief stint as an event planner, I decided to jump back into photography full time and can not imagine doing anything else for the rest of my life!
I absolutely love to travel and am chomping at the bits to go abroad again (as soon as COVID craziness has calmed down). When I am not behind the camera, you can find me spending time with my husband and son, going for a hike or watching crime shows. ID channel is my life!
If you want a genuine and supportive photographer working hard to capture the raw and beautiful moments of your wedding day, I'm your girl!
A few fun facts about me:
● I was born in South Africa
● I can speak Afrikaans and some Spanish
● I studied photography abroad in Florence, Italy
● I was inducted into Nikon's Hall of Fame for Emerging Photographers in 2014
● I earned my BFA in Photography from UNC Charlotte
● My favorite restaurant is Salsaritas
● I love extreme couponing
I met my husband Bradley when we were both studying at UNC Charlotte. After 5 years of dating we got married in 2016 and moved to Chester, Virginia. In March of 2019 we were blessed with the arrival of our son, Leo. Hard to believe he will be two this year!
I love seeing which intimate items my couples have taken time and effort to include in their day. As a wedding photographer, my goal is to not only capture the big moments, but also all the small and beautiful details that make your day special!
I am a total travel junkie and have a travel bucket list a mile long! My favorite destination will always be Florence, Italy (this picture was taken at the top of the Duomo). Some of the places I hope to visit soon include: Germany, New Zealand, Japan, Switzerland and Alaska.
I have the ultimate brown thumb! I love plants so much, however they definitely do not love me. No matter what I do, I have the hardest time keeping plants alive. Succulents are the only ones that have survived my unintentional plant murdering.
