After having to delay their wedding in 2020 due to the global pandemic, Vasha and David were finally able to tie the knot on a beautiful Sunday evening at The Hotel Concord in historic downtown Concord, North Carolina.

This wedding was very near and dear to my heart, as Vasha is one of my best friends! We met at UNC Charlotte where we were roommates and members of the Honors College. Vasha is actually the one who introduced me to my husband and without her, I would not be married with a kid today.

Seeing Vasha with David, it is safe to say she has found her other half. The way these two love each other is inspiring. Looking through the pictures of the day, it is so easy to see how much light and love these two bring into their relationship. The constant smiles and laughter made this wedding an absolute dream to be a part of and to photograph.

Vasha first saw David when she was stepping out of one of the biology buildings on campus and saw a man “barreling” across the freshly cut grass, heading to the building. Her first thought was, “Who is this A-hole who is not walking on the sidewalk when the grass has just been cut!?” Vasha’s grandfather always taught her to respect the landscaping and to never walk on grass after it has just been cut. She couldn’t believe David was walking on the grass! The two officially met when they took a programming class together and the rest is history.

The two got engaged on a trip to Seattle, Washington with some friends. They went for a hike to Bridal Veil Falls where David got down on one knee and popped the question.

Vasha and David selected purple for their wedding as it is their favorite color. For their favors, they included a personalized shot glass, BBQ spice rub (made by David himself) and a few candles made by one of Vasha’s bridesmaids.

Vasha and David, I am so proud of the two of you and feel so lucky to be able to call you both my friends. Your wedding day was perfect and I cannot wait to see what life the two of you will build together. I love you both!
