The Gin at Aw Shucks Farm | Monroe, NC

Megan and Luke were married on a chilly November day at The Gin at Aw Shucks Farm. To tell this love story, we have to go all the way back to preschool, where Megan and Luke first met. The remained friends throughout the years until Junior year of high school when things changed. They started dating and have been inseparable ever since!

Built on the grounds of an 1800’s cotton gin, The Gin at Aw Shucks was the perfect rustic venue for this wedding with sliding barn doors that gave way to a view of the pond, stone fire pit, and tree lined path leading to the Farm.

This wedding was full of small and special details that were incredibly important to the couple. Megan and Luke wanted to honored their loved ones who had passed. The bible in the detail photos belonged to Megan’s grandmother. Her bouquet included charms and photos of loved ones who unfortunately were not able to be present at the wedding. Luke’s custom cufflinks were made from the flowers from his grandmother’s grave. The engraved lighter was a present Megan gave to Luke on his 19th birthday.

When it came time for the ceremony, Luke was not prepared for how stunning Megan looked in her Mori Lee dress. His reaction was priceless as he watched Megan walk down the aisle with her father. When I asked Luke after the ceremony what he thought of Megan’s wedding day look, he responded with, “She’s an absolute smoke show”.

The evening ended with a stunning sunset of pink and orange skies overlooking the farm. For their exit, Megan and Luke decided in a mixture of LED balloons and bubbles for the perfect ending to their wonderful day!
