Freezing cold temperatures, snow flurries and 40+ MPH winds didn’t stop Rachel and Dom from having the most magical mountain top wedding at The Seclusion in Lexington, Virginia. Although the day didn’t go according to plan due to the weather, Rachel and Dom rolled with the punches and had the most incredible wedding!

Situated on on 72 private acres, The Seclusion is surrounded by the gorgeous Shenandoah Mountains. The stunning views and charming fairy-tale barn provided the perfect setting for the celebration. Everything about this property centers around utter privacy and relaxation, taking you away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The breathtaking panoramic mountain views and total solitude of the venue allowed for Rachel and Dom to forget about any stress and just celebrate with their favorite people.

Rachel and Dom met at James Madison University their sophomore year. Rachel’s group of friends had met Dom and they all went out together one night. After spending the whole night talking, Dom asked her out on their first date the next morning. They made sure to include several JMU elements in their wedding including a custom bottle of wine.

During the ceremony, instead of using traditional vows, Rachel and Dom performed a pinky swear where they each pledged various promises for their life together. Each member of the bridal party spoke during the ceremony, sharing an intimate memory or story about Rachel and Dom and their admiration for the couple.

After braving the strong winds and freezing temperature for sunset portraits, Rachel and Dom returned to the bridal suite to have a private dinner and enjoy their first meal together as husband and wife.

Rachel and Dom made sure to include several special touches to their day that highlighted their love and appreciation for their friends and family. From signs around the venue with each bridal party member, to a custom suggestion box where they asked for guests to write down a date for an anniversary trip anywhere in the world, to a phone guest book where guests could leave a voicemail for the couple, Rachel and Dom’s admiration for the people in their lives and love and support of the couple could be seen and felt throughout the day.
