Canal Walk and Libby Hill Engagement Session | Richmond, Virginia

Despite a forecast calling for rain and thunderstorm, Rebecca and Austin’s engagement session went off without any weather interruptions! Bringing along their adorable dog Gus, we explored Canal Walk and Libby Hill. This session was filled with laughter and love as Rebecca and Austin shared the details with me on how they met, their wedding plans and love of travel.

How They Met

Rebecca and Austin met through mutual friends in high school and were both members of county orchestra.

The Proposal

Last August, Rebecca and Austin went with Austin’s family to the beach. All week he’d been asking Rebecca to go for a walk on the beach at night and each night he asked, she was already a couple of drinks in and didn’t want to go. FINALLY, on Thursday she agreed to go on a walk after dinner. They went out in pajamas. They talked the whole time about the trip, their dog, and their lives in general. They turned the flash light off for the majority of the walk, but when they were getting close to the beach house Rebecca recommended they used the flashlight because it was a little darker near the houses. Austin said “No, I like it walking in the dark!” Rebecca said, “Weird but okay…” and as SOON as she said that, he SCREAMED behind her and said he’d stepped on some glass.

While she was in the middle of saying, “I told you we needed the light, let me look at it” she stopped because he was kneeling with a very pretty ring and said, “What if you look at this instead?”
