Maymont Engagement Session | Richmond, Virginia

For their engagement session, Shannon and Steve wanted to show off their fancy and casual sides. We started their session with their fancy attire with Steve in a shirt and tie and Shannon in a stunning sparkly dress. After walking around the Japanese Garden at Maymont, they changed into a more casual outfit and we strolled over to the lawns. Shannon and Steve wanted to show off their love for boardgames and brought a few of their favorites with to add to their photographs. We ended the session with tons of laughter and a bubble gun!

How They Met

Shannon and Steve first met in college at James Madison University in Anime Club. They first started out as friends and then decided to go on a date after knowing each other for about six months. Ever since that first date, they have been inseparable! With a love for going to the movies, playing videogames or boardgames, these two are the absolute perfect match!

The Proposal

Last year, Shannon and Steve we did several picnics, mainly just to get out of the house. On one of these picnics, he proposed! However it was apparently the third time he had tried to propose! The first time, they had gone up to Shenandoah National Park in April, after it had just snowed, so everything was very icy and they didn’t stay long. The second time Steve tried to propose, they went on a hike and it ended up being a lot more single file and less romantic then he thought it would be, so he decided to keep it simple and try for the lucky third time!
