Libby Hill Engagement Session | Richmond, Virginia
The gorgeous Virginia Fall weather was on display for Erin and Austin’s engagement session. We spent their session at Libby Hill, overlooking downtown Richmond.
Erin and Austin met at Austin’s friend’s Halloween party in October 2020. Erin originally did not have any Halloween plans until the night before. Erin’s friend had a brother who went to high school with Austin and invited them to his party. Erin borrowed a last-minute monkey costume and Austin went as Golden Face (aka Jim) from The Office episode “Zero Dark Thirty.” Austin and Erin were drawn to each other as soon as Erin showed up at the party and they were inseparable the whole evening. They talked but mostly danced and eventually Erin called an Uber home. She gave Austin her phone to get his number and Austin accidentally put her phone in his pocket! Austin had to bring Erin her phone the next day and that’s when Austin asked Erin to dinner that night.
Erin had just started a new job so Austin planned a dinner to celebrate finishing her first week. He claimed that since it was Friday, the earliest reservation he could get was 7:30. They had casually talked about wedding venues they liked previously (one of them being Maymont), so Austin suggested that they walk around Maymont before dinner to kill some time. They walked through the Italian gardens where Austin got down on one knee. He had a photographer set up to capture the whole moment! Afterwards, Erin was excited about going out to dinner but Austin drove them back home and there was a surprise party with their friends and family!
