The Greencroft Club Wedding | Charlottesville, Virginia

Despite the forecast for severe storms, Mary and Garrett’s wedding went off without a hitch! With the rain on the horizon, we weren’t sure if the ceremony would continue outside as planned. Luckily, right before the ceremony the rain stopped and the sun come out! We could see dark storm clouds heading our way and almost immediately after the ceremony, the rain started pouring again! After a brief shower, the sun returned and remained for the rest of the day!

Mary and Garrett first met when their roommates introduced them. Their roommates Sam and Kelsey were dating each other and they decided to set Mary and Garrett up on a blind date. They went to Cookout because it was the only restaurant in town that was still open past 8:00 PM. Garrett didn’t know he was on a date until after the date when Sam told him. It all worked out in the end because Sam gave Garrett Mary’s phone number, and the rest was history!

Mary and Garrett, who are already married, decided that they wanted to have big wedding with friends and loved ones. Their perfect day included fun details such as vintage Coca-Cola bottles, flower’s from Mary’s parent’s farm, delicious popsicles and even a sparkler exit that ended with Garrett announcing to Mary where they would be going on their honeymoon, which he planned as a surprise to her… Rome.

I’m sure you’ve heard of a bouquet toss, but have you ever heard of a glove toss? I have to admit, it was a first for me! Garrett decided that he wanted in on the fun too and tossed a glove to the bachelors at the wedding.

The Greencroft Club was the perfect location for this gorgeous wedding. Since 1965 The Greencroft Club has been a charming country estate nestled at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains just minutes from downtown Charlottesville, Virginia.
