Hannah and Jack began their engagement session on a perfect summer day at gorgeous Maymont Park. For their session, they chose locations that held special meanings to them and represented the history of their relationship. Maymont will always be near and dear to their hearts because that is where Jack proposed! They had their first date at Joe’s Inn in the Fan where they spent over two hours talking over beer and mozzarella sticks. To commemorate that date, they ended their engagement session at Joe’s where their love story began.

How They Met

Although Jack and Hannah went to neighboring colleges in the same town (Longwood and Hampden-Sydney in Farmville) and lived just blocks away from each other in the fan, we met online! While at first Hannah wasn’t looking for anything serious, Jack was persistent and put up with Hannah rescheduling their first date a few times. His persistence paid off in the end!

The Proposal

Jack and Hannah were having a quiet day before heading to her cousin’s house for an extended family’s Christmas celebration. Hannah has just finished baking the last of the Christmas cookies and Jack asked her if she wanted to go on one of their customary walks to Maymont. They took their usual route through Byrd Park (Hannah thought they were going to investigate the car that went into the lake that week!). Jack took Hannah to see the bison, just as he had on one of their first dates. Before she knew it, Jack proposed in a quiet little area by the bison. It was the perfect moment! After saying yes, Jack and Hannah went to her family’s house where they surprised everyone with their news!
