Maymont Wedding | Richmond, Virginia

Michele and Greg’s wedding was full of hilarious Dad jokes, Disney touches and laughter. The soundtrack for their wedding consisted mainly of Disney songs, many wedding details were Disney or Marvel related and for their honeymoon the newlyweds headed aboard a Disney Cruise. Michele’s stepfather officiated the ceremony and had everyone belly laughing as he lovingly gave Greg a hard time with his vows.

After getting off to a little bit of a rocky start and having to call the local Fire Department to help retrieve the car keys that were accidentally locked in the car, we set off for Maymont. Sitting on a 100-acres located in Richmond, Virginia the historic estate and park is full of beautiful gardens, lovely scenery including the fame Blue Atals Cedar where Michele and Greg held their ceremony.

For the reception we headed over to the other side of the park to the Robins Nature Center. Housing close to 30,000 gallons of aquaria showcasing animals of the James River and Chesapeake Bay, the Nature Center also has a 34-foot-tall centerpiece sculpture that visitors are invited to climb. During the reception, Greg decided to climb through the sculpture with the kids!

Michele and Greg first met in a running group and wanted to commemorate that detail on their wedding day by both wearing Hoka running sneakers.
