Boathouse at Sunday Park Wedding | Midlothian, Virginia

On a beautiful Fall day in October, Shannon and Steven were married at the Boathouse at Sunday Park in Midlothian, Virginia. Although the day started off very cold and windy, by the time the ceremony started the wind had died down, providing us with a perfect weather!

Shannon and Steven first met in one of the most romantic places they could think of, JMU Anime Club. After being introduced by mutual friends, they soon became friends going to “wild” Rock Band and Mario Cart parties and anime marathon days. After one such anime marathon watch party during the Fall of 2015 they finally decided to go on a date and the rest is history.

For their special day, the bride herself created not only the floral arrangements, centerpieces, boutonnieres, bridesmaids bouquets and ceremony flower pots, she also made candle favors for the guests. Several items were custom made for the wedding including their ring box, guestbook, perfume and getting ready attire for the girls.

Shannon wanted to make sure that both her father and step-father were included in her special day. The dads stood side by side during their first look with Shannon, they both walked her down the aisle and each had their own dance with her during the reception.

During their engagement session, the couple brought along a bubble machine for their photos which was so much fun! They made sure to do the same for their wedding only this time with even more bubble machines! Bubbles flowed as the newly married couple walked down the aisle, as we were taking portraits and for their exit at the end of the night.
