Biltmore Estate Engagement Session | Asheville, North Carolina
On a beautiful Fall day in Asheville, I met Michelle and Jaymon at the gorgeous Biltmore Estate for their engagement session. We started on back patio which provides stunning views of the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains. We then headed down the south Terrace and into the conservatory, which houses so many incredible plants! We continued our session at the top of the Esplande before making our way down to the front lawn.
Situated on 8,000 acres surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains, Biltmore is a truly one-of-a-kind place. Construction of the Biltmore began in 1889 and took six years and one thousand craftsmen to create. George Vanderbilt officially opened the home to friends and family on Christmas Eve in 1895.
The mansion was first opened to the public in 1930, and continues to be a popular tourist attraction. In addition to the stunning Châteauesque-style mansion, Biltmore Estate also offers 75 acres of formal and informal gardens, biking, horseback riding, 22 miles of hiking trails, a winery, hotels, shopping village and so more.
The Biltmore remains the largest privately owned house in the United States. If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend visiting the Estate!
Michelle and Jaymon met online and instantly formed a connection! They both soon learned that they were both in the finance industry and definitely both self-proclaimed math nerds.
Jaymon schemed behind Michelle’s back and had her friends decorate the house while he took her out to dinner. The whole time leading up to dinner, Michelle was convincing herself Jaymon was NOT proposing and he just wanted to get a nice meal. Once they got home, Michelle conveniently went to check the mail, while Jaymon ran in the house and got down on one knee. Michelle walked in, took everything in, threw the mail, and immediately starting sobbing. Before Jaymon could even get a word out, Michelle cried “Are you sure?”. Jaymon was!
“His patience and how comforting and supportive he is.”
“Her niceness, selflessness, and intelligence.”
