On a beautiful fall day, Makenna and Jason headed to the Blue Ridge Parkway to capture their engagement photos at Ravens Roost Overlook. The weather was absolutely perfect and gave us some amazing colors for their sunset photos!

For their wedding, they will be getting married by the beach. Therefore, the couple wanted some stunning mountain views for their engagement session!

How They Met

Makenna and Jason first met years ago when they were both working at Petco. For their first date they went to Burger Bach for dinner.

The Proposal

Makenna and Jason wanted to take photos together for a vintage picture frame Makenna’s mom gave them, so Jason got a tripod for his camera and said he wanted to test it out. They went to Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens under the guise of taking this photo. After setting up the tripod and setting the self timer, Jason got down on one knee and proposed while the camera was taking pictures!

Funny thing, and unbeknownst to all of us at the time, I happened to be walking by a few moments after Makenna said yes with a different KHP couple during an engagement session!
