Maymont Engagement Session | Richmond, Virginia

Jessica and Jordan’s Maymont engagement session was filled with perfect weather, lots of laughter and large crows (although you can’t tell from the pictures)! Unknowingly, we decided to go to Maymont on the same day it seemed as every prom in the entire Richmond area! The gardens were filled with high schoolers in gorgeous gowns taking pictures with friends and family.

After some strategic maneuvering and placement, we captured some sweet and intimate moments of Jessica and Jordan for their session!

How They Met

Jessica and Jordan met during their freshman year of college when they lived in the same dorm hall. Jordan and Jessica started talking more in classes, and he always gave her compliments that no one else did, which she thought was super sweet. They slowly started to see more of each other. Come to find out, they were majoring in the same major! They quickly realized that they shared a lot in common. So much in common that his sister’s name is the same as Jessica’s, and both of their moms have the same name! They went on their “first date” during sophomore year and two days later were officially dating. Both knew, along with their friends, that this would be their forever partner.

The Proposal

Jessica and Jordan went of their first cruise to the Caribbean, where Jordan popped the question. On the second night of the cruise, Jordan was adamant about taking sunset pictures. Jessica couldn’t understand why he was so set on sunset pictures. They decided to get dressed up for the elegant night and get dinner. Once they started getting ready, Jordan used the animal towel left by housekeeping that day and positioned the ring right in the middle. Jessica walked by the ring twice before realizing the ring was there, and Jordan was on one knee!
